Three weeks ago, I visited The Tea Terrace on the 2nd floor of the House of Fraser department store in London Victoria, next to the bathroom department. I went around 2-3pm when it wasn’t busy but, being completely overwhelmed with the choice of tables, I sat behind a mother and daughter and her baby (I couldn’t think properly). This cute tea salon is decorated in blue, pink, and white. Tea quotes from around the world and throughout the centuries are printed on the walls. On the bookshelves around the salon, there are whimsical teapots in all forms (toaster teapot, anyone?). It’s clearly a place for tea lovers!

I had a Groupon voucher but made the mistake of not presenting it upon arrival (I had to talk to the manager later). Even without the Groupon voucher, this is one of the cheapest and best afternoon tea places to come to in London. Not only is the food delicious but you’ll get to drink out of Royal Albert teacups.
Menu: Afternoon Tea for One
- Tea or Coffee — I chose Sapphire Earl Grey Tea
- 4 sandwiches (select 2 of the 6 options) — I chose egg and mayonnaise and salad cress, as well as smoked salmon and cream cheese
- Scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream — I was recommended white chocolate with cranberry (really good!)
- Slices of cake — I was given lemon loaf and banana bread (best banana bread I’ve had in a long time!)
Afternoon Tea for One
This would be a fun place to come to with at least one other person. If you’re lucky, pick a table with these whimsical tall armchairs and sofa!
