Happy Costume Day (yes, this is what I call Halloween)!
What did people create for Halloween, Masquerades, and Dress Up Parties throughout the decades? The following photos of historical and historically-inspired costumes are from Ivan Sayers’ collection and are from two fashion shows in 2013 that my friends and I had modelled in. Maybe these might inspire future costume ideas! 🙂 Click on the Instagram photos for more details.

Fashion in Fiction – 2 Nov 2013
This fashion lecture was like a storybook parade. Each of the models were dressed in vintage clothing (not costumes) to represent literary characters. (Please note that the only costume was the Holly Golightly dress, which Ivan’s mother made for herself as a costume.) Unfortunately, I did not take a photo of the costume sheet so you’ll have to guess which character each of us were dressed up as (except for mine: I was Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm and Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany‘s).
