Continuing from my last trip to Paris in April, I would like to recommend two places where you can have the best view of Paris for FREE. You don’t even have to buy a drink! (I know there are more places but I’ll have to explore some more next time.) These two places happen to be next two each other and are both department stores: Galeries Lafayette and Printemps on Boulevard Haussmann in the 9th Arrondissement.
La Terrasse des Galeries Lafayette
Where: 7th Floor (take the escalator to the 6th floor, then take the stairs)
Hours: 9:30am – 6:30 / terrible weather conditions (June-September)
Specialty: Turf floors with comfortable chairs
Café Déli-Cieux at Printemps
Where: 9th Floor (there are 2 buildings – one for beauty, and one for everything else. Take the escalators up from the building for ‘everything else’). *Please note that the escalators leading to the top of Printemps are very narrow!
Hours: 9:30am – 20:00 (Mon-Sat) / 22:00 (Thurs)
Specialty: 360° view of Paris
