(This post was written for The Glosse Posse.)
Last week, I wrote about my desperate attempt to clear up my face for the live model lecture on Sunday. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to wear concealer and some foundation to cover up the red marks on Sunday.
During the last 7 days, however, I have tried out one new pin and have also visited the steam room yesterday to detox.
The pin I am currently trying is the Apple Cider Vinegar Detox:
This pin requires 2 teaspoons of ACV but the one I’ve been trying requires 4 tablespoons of ACV. I admit I have not been doing it right as I always drink it after a meal when it should be before a meal (three times a day). Perhaps that is why I have not noticed a significant change. The good news is that it is doing something, even if I can’t see it. After all, there are at least 20 uses for ACV, so something must be working internally. 😉
I should also warn you that it’s a nasty tasting drink, very similar to drinking expired wine. Oh, and it doesn’t smell very pleasant either. Just endure it.
According to one blogger, your skin will break out first within a day or two. This will also happen when you visit steam rooms or when you get a facial. Your body is simply removing the toxins (hurrah!) from within. The blogger noticed that her skin was all clear by day 4 or 5. That’s not too bad!
So, this is what I will do:
- Drink ACV (2 teaspoons) before every meal.
- Make an ACV toner using one of these pins:
I’ll let you know how it goes next week!

I’d been told about ACV but just that you should take a tablespoon orally before eating, especially in the morning. Shuddershuddershudder. It was sooo hard to swallow. Diluting it seems like a wise idea.
You were told 1 Tablespoon? I don’t think I could take it plain. Even with water it’s hard to swallow. I find that I have to eat right away if I take ACV or I feel worse. 😦
That’s probably why it curbs your appetite; ACV turns your stomach! All joking aside, I had an oral antibiotic for acne & you had to take it on an empty stomach & wait one hour before eating. If I waited 62 minutes before eating I would just yak my brains out. (Lovely post-breakfast image, eh?)
Indeed! I’ve decided to drink only a teaspoon of ACV with lots of water now – and only once a day because I don’t know if I can endure it anymore. Blech! 😦
