HRH Prince George’s Debut!

23 July 2013

The royal trio (i.e. Prince William, his wife Catherine, and their son, Baby Cambridge) left St Mary’s Hospital today at around 19:15 BST. Many of us had been sitting in front of the telly or a/many electronic device(s), watching the royal baby monitor for hours. Fine, we were staring at a door – the Lindo Wing door.

I was quite lucky for I awoke later and waited only 1 hour or so before the royal trio exited the doors. We were blown away by how lovely the Duchess looked in her pale blue polka dot dress and were ecstatic when we saw the little bundle waving his fingers. I’ve included some tweets with photos from the day:

We didn’t have to wait long for Baby Cambridge’s name. We now know him as HRH Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge!

What’s in a name?

A nickname for the prince?

For British Columbians, there was one more reason to celebrate the royal birth and the naming of the little prince: we have a city named Prince George!

Sure enough, the Mayor of Prince George has declared 22 July as Prince George of Cambridge Day!

I would just like to include this quote from the article as it is quite symbolic:

Assembly of First Nations Chief Shawn Atleo and his wife, Nancy, opted to make a symbolic addition to the young prince’s wardrobe with footwear from aboriginal-owned Canadian company, Manitobah Mukluks. “This gift symbolizes the historic ties between the Aboriginal peoples of Canada and the Crown, and will serve as a continued token of friendship,” Atleo said in a statement.

I would like to visit Prince George, BC in 2015, especially since the Canada Winter Games will be hosted there. I’m certain the residents of PG would be elated if the royal trio could visit BC then! Do drop by Vancouver too, Your Royal Highnesses! 😉
