Our skin isn’t always perfect and the first thing many of us do is cover up. The two that I’ve used the most are Vichy’s Dermablend Corrective Foundation and Normaderm Teint Anti-Imperfection Foundation. Both foundations are unfortunately limited in shades (only 5) but are: hypoallergenic, paraben-free, and contain Vichy Thermal Spa Water. By the names of these foundations, you can tell that they’re for skin imperfections. I found Dermablend great when I needed more coverage but it felt too thick in summer. Normaderm Teint is perfect for light coverage and I love that you can’t feel there’s makeup on your skin. These days, I avoid any makeup but if I ever need just a hint of colour, I wear Origin’s VitaZing SPF 15. Blends right into your natural skin tone!

The Duchess of Cambridge is known to have used Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20. It comes in 12 shades and is meant to have a no-makeup feel. After testing it, I can see why it’s popular but I prefer minimal to no coverage nowadays. Maybe the oil-free version feels lighter?

Hope these mini reviews helped!

  1. I tried the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer once, then returned it. Whatever shade the salesman “matched” to my skin was way too light and made me look like I was wearing a kabuki mask!

I think it’s funny how you know all the preferred products of Kate Middleclass & Pippa. Where do you read this stuff? I agree with the duchess & her fine-bottomed sister on the Visionnaire and mascaras but the Laura Mercier I’m not sure of. Perhaps I just got the wrong shade?

    • I liked the LM tinted moisturiser sample of Bisque that I had two years ago. I know they’ve added a few new ones. Didn’t end up buying the oil-free one anyway when I was looking for new foundations.
I had a beauty post on products that the Duchess of Cambridge uses. There’s a link in the post from one of the Kate blogs that lists all the Duchess’ beauty products. It was the What Would Kate Do website where I first found out about the link. 🙂
