OOTD: Boden ‘Isla’ Black Watch Dress

After a year and two months, I can finally debut my second favourite dress (my favourite being the vintage green velvet dress): Boden‘s ‘Isla’ Dress in Black Watch! I was browsing Instagram’s Explore page at the end of 2014 when I noticed this beautiful Black Watch dress on Forever Amber (one of my favourite fashion bloggers), …

OOTD: Deighton Cup 2014

Hello! 🙂 I meant to post about the Deighton Cup 2014 earlier this week but today will have to do. This year was my second time at the Deighton Cup on Saturday, 26 July. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Deighton Cup, it’s Vancouver’s main horse racing event during summer. Those who wish to …

OOTD: Ballerina-Inspired

In two days, it will be officially summer! Last month, I decided it was time to add some colour to my mostly black mourning wardrobe. I’ve been wanting to have a ballerina-esque outfit and took my inspiration from the H&M SS2011 collection: I’d been checking new styles from Jacob Boutique and H&M and was delighted when I …

OOTD: Decked in Green for St Paddy’s

Green is one of my favourite colours. I’m constantly on the lookout for the perfect Little Green Dress in Forest Green since my wardrobe is full of funeral garbs (i.e. LBDs, black blazers, black tights). Yesterday, I managed to be dressed from head to toe in green for St Patrick’s Day. Dress: Zara FW2006 | …

Charity Spotlight: Dressember 2013

I found out about Dressember for IJM (International Justice Mission) 6 days late. Nevertheless, I was excited to take part since I wear dresses and skirts every day. Every day, we are to post a photo of ourselves in dresses to show that we are adDRESSing the need to end modern slavery. I am raising …

OOTD: Ralph Lauren Polka Dot Dress

Today’s Polka Dot Flutter Sleeve Jersey dress is my most recent purchase from Lauren by Ralph Lauren. The original price was $134 USD but I found it at Ross in Seattle for $49.99. While the dots in this dress appear to be beige, mine are white. My inspiration for my OOTD (this dress plus artist cloche) …

Dress No. 24 or 24th Birthday Dress

Today’s 3rd 100 Dresses post is on my 24th Birthday dress, which I’ve named “Dress No. 24” (like Chanel No. 5) because it was, at the time, my 24th dress too! What I wore on my 24th birthday: Why did I purchase this dress? Being a summer child, I needed something that wasn’t too long …

OOTD: Vintage Jonathan Logan Dress

Happy Earth Day! This is my outfit of the today: Still fairly new to vintage clothing, I had never heard of Jonathan Logan when I spotted this dress at Duchesse in Chinatown. I wanted to know how old this dress could be so I googled the designer and found this page on JL. Based on …

OOTD: Easter Dress

I’m starting a new series called 100 Dresses, better known as OOTD (outfit of the day) for the rest of you. The post will focus mainly on my dresses but some outfits will have skirts. I take the title from a book I’d partially read when I was a child by the same name which …

Peplum Dresses

Last year, I learned the word ‘peplum,’ which is that flared/pleated ‘skirt’ around the waist. As a dress, it is usually finished off with a straight body-hugging skirt. It can also be a blouse, paired with trousers or a straight skirt. Though I’d never heard of the word ‘peplum’ before, I first saw it in Thumbelina …

OOTD: Edwardian/Equestrian-Style

I’m starting a new category called ‘fashion’ which will contain posts on clothing from my wardrobe and other related-styles.

My style has always stayed the same (anything with some historical influence) and my ideal beauty is being elegant. I love dresses (and skirts) and avoid wearing trousers if I don’t need to wear them. I look to ladies, Golden actresses, and royals from the past for inspiration and to the Duchess of Cambridge for a more modern look (yes, by my books, she’s modernly chic!) – be it for work or casual.

So, without further ado, I present to you today’s Edwardian/equestrian-inspired outfit for work!
