Last year, I tried Body Shop’s Tea Tree line to treat my blemished skin. I started with one product and eventually tested nearly all the products in the Tea Tree line. (In hindsight, I should have tried the starter’s kit first.) I really liked this line but only some products were more effective than others.
Did a pretty good job in fading blemish scars.
It’s a cooling mask that helps remove impurities (on the surface and under the skin). I prefer using the Blue Corn 3-in-1 Deep Cleansing Mask as it works as an exfoliator too.
With only three options available (light, medium, dark), I found light to be too light for me and medium to be too dark – but went with light anyways. I realised that I have to start with a thumbnail amount, starting with both cheeks, the forehead, and a little for the nose. The coverage is pretty light and applying a second coat does not mask any red spots. At best, it covers scars, nothing more. There’s tea tree oil in this product and you can certainly feel it on your face as soon as it’s applied. Looks like it needs to be used with the concealer.
I had my doubts about this tiny product at first but I noticed that my blemishes were noticeably smaller or banished after I put it on overnight. The only problem with this is that it is so small and will be used up within 2 weeks if used twice daily. For $10, it’s too expensive.
-> Tea Tree Oil
For the same price, skip the above-mentioned gel and use the oil instead. It’s far more effective and you’ll get more uses out of it than the gel (at least one month).
It treats skin and acts as a primer at the same time. Loved this product, especially during summer!
Probably just as effective as applying the tea tree oil. It can remove any traces of make up (avoid eyes, of course). To matte the face, shake the bottle to mix the yellow-whitish mattifying powders at the bottom. For a big bottle, I finished this pretty quickly (within two months).
I loved the refreshing and cleansed feeling on my skin. Tea Tree Body Wash is also excellent for any parts on the body that may be acne-prone.
A refreshing exfoliator but Blue Corn’s mask is more effective.
Tea Tree Towelettes
Good for removing makeup (not the eyes, of course). Otherwise, you’re better off getting makeup removing wipes and putting on tea tree oil afterwards.
